ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Fostering an environment for the creation of new businesses (including minority owned businesses) in the district, employment opportunities and training that develops or builds knowledge for enhanced economic opportunities.
The 28th Legislative District Community Development Corporation (28th CDC) is developing a mix-use facility that will consist of a 20,000+ square foot two story complex comprised of commercial, retail and housing on Martin Luther King Boulevard in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This development will serve as a catalyst for economic development in a downtown neighborhood seeking to resurrect itself from a condition of poverty. It will further enhance economic opportunity in the area, create jobs, and add to the revitalization efforts of downtown Chattanooga.
